And now something completely different: I talked to João Diogo Ramos, co-founder of LOAD ZX Spectrum, the first museum in the world dedicated to ZX Spectrum, its creators and everything around it. It was a long conversation but a good one, for sure. But even so, if you want to complain about being too long, you can do it. 🙂
The comic book “Mar de Aral”, in addition to marking an unpublished release by the great author José Carlos Fernandes for many years, won 3 awards at the “Galardões BD” (Best Artist, Best Writer and Best Book) and 2 more at the “Prémios Nacionais de Banda Desenhada” (Best writer and Best Book)! With the magnificent pencils and colors by Roberto Gomes, the graphic novel has had excellent reviews by the public and experts. It was an honor to have made the book layout, design and helped with the lettering. You can buy this book, here: http://bit.ly/34Guu01 The book is published by G. Floy Studio Portugal and Comic Heart
I had the pleasure of working on another Portuguese graphic novel, “Assembleia das Mulheres”, by the talented artist Zé Nuno Fraga. This book as an original design by me. Also, I did the lettering but not the balloons. The book’s design was inspired by the ancient greek porcelain. Here are some example pages: The book It’s already available in the best bookstores in Portugal, and online too! You can buy here: http://bit.ly
The Portuguese publisher Escorpião Azul has the new release “O Espírito do Escorpião”, by Fernando Llor and Pablo Caballo. I paginated this 152 page black and white graphic novel. It was more complicated than it initially seemed, as the artist sent the pages with different sizes. But the final result was satisfactory and turned out to be a beautiful book.
One of the last graphic novels published by Polvo, was this “Folia de Reis”, from the Brazilian author Marcello Quintanilha. This book its full color, with 84 pages and soft cover, and I made the pagination.
I finally got some books that I worked on to Polvo, some time ago. From Brazilian authors came Luzes de Niterói, by Marcello Quintanilha and Angola Janga, by Marcelo D’Salete. From Portuguese authors, Zahna, by Joana Afonso and A Loja, by Derradé. And from France Maria e Salazar, by Robin Walter. But the best of it, is the fact that all of them are signed and with magnificent illustrations by their authors. So, to all of them, and to the editor-in-chief, Rui Brito, my thanks.
This is my latest video on “Palavra de Jesus”. It’s about some gothic comic books, wich would be nice to read at Halloween’s.
In this kind of “special” about the publisher Ala dos Livro, I make a review of two of their books. They are “A Morte Viva” by Vatine and Veranda, and “Comanche vol. 1” by Greg and Hermann.
This is my Dylan Dog book that I enjoyed to letter. Now I have my name in a Dario Argento book! This book in portuguese is called “Trevas Profundas”, and was published by “A Seita”
